PPF Partners was established in late 2008 as a joint venture between two of the region's most successful and experienced financial services groups: PPF Group and Assicurazioni Generali. PPF Group holds 72.5% of PPF Partners and Generali holds 27.5%.
PPF Group has been an active and successful investor in the Central and Eastern Europe region for nearly 20 years. Founded by Petr Kellner in 1991, over the past two decades, PPF has grown rapidly from its roots as a €175 million privatisation fund, to become a financial conglomerate with over €10 billion in assets in 2007.
Assicurazioni Generali, one of the world's largest insurance groups, has operated across Central and Eastern Europe throughout its 176 year history. Internationally renowned for its stability and prudence, Generali continues to balance financial conservatism with the need for growth by selecting the best new asset classes for its investments.
The creation of PPF Partners is the second significant collaboration between PPF Group and Generali. In 2007, the two groups created Generali PPF Holding, a joint venture that brought together the insurance assets of both Groups in the Central and Eastern Europe region. The decision to join forces in private equity demonstrates the strong relationship between PPF Group and Generali and the belief in the benefits of bringing together their combined expertise.
PPF Partners is led by Tomáš Brzobohatý, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and Mel Carvill, President and Chief Financial Officer.
With offices in Guernsey and the Czech Republic and a team of professionals with decades of business experience in Emerging Europe, PPF Partners aims to be the leading private equity firm in the region.
